In 2021, the Jane Finch Community Hub Organizing Committee celebrated the negotiated settlement between Metrolinx and the City of Toronto, for the land transfer of a portion of the Finch West LRT Maintenance and Storage facility lands for the future development of the Jane Finch Community Hub and Centre for the Arts.  The win is the result of significant community organizing after MEtrolinx reneged in Summer 2021 on an earlier promise to include the land transfer as a community benefit as part of the Finch West LRT project.  

The mandate of the Jane-Finch Community Hub Organizing Committee is to secure the transfer of land from Metrolinx and the Province of Ontario to the Jane-Finch community; steward the pre-development of the project; and establish an equitable community decision-making process for the design, programming, construction, operations, and sustainability of the community hub

TCBN would like to acknowledge the tremendous effort and work of the Jane Finch community, a diverse and vibrant neighbourhood, towards securing this land. The Committee is finalizing a collaborative work program with the City of Toronto to engage the community and early planning activities
