Community Benefits Changemakers Award
An annual recognition of a community group, organization or coalition who has contributed to the movement for equitable development through community benefits organizing in Toronto. Submit your nomination for a community group, organization or coalition for the year 2023 here. Submit your nomination today.Shortlisted nominees will be posted on July 15th.
The 2023 recipient will be selected through an online public voting process which will begin on July 15th, 2024 with the winner being announced at our Annual General Meeting on July 19th, 2024. This recognition includes a $1,500 award to be used to support the community coalition's work.

Previous Community Benefits Changemakers Award Recipients:
- 2018 - RexdaleRising! community and labour campaign leads to Community Benefits Agreement for Woodbine Casino Expansion project
- 2019 - TCBN community and labour campaign to secure the first City of Toronto Community Benefits Framework
- 2020 - Federal InclusiveRecovery! Campaign. National campaign to call on federal government to include CBAs as part of infrastructure investments like transit
- 2021 - Regent Park Neighbourhood Association (RPNA) Community Benefits Coalition secures commitment for a Community Benefits Agreement as part of TCHC Regent Park Phase 4 and 5 revitalization in Regent Park
2022 - Moss Park Coalition for its efforts in organizing for a Community Benefits Agreement, neighbourhood improvements and environmental protections as part of the now estimated $28B Ontario Line subway project and its advocacy efforts for a deeply affordable housing and a Social Development Plan for the Moss Park area
